Believe in yourself!
How your children believe about themselves can make all the difference in what they will accomplish in life. Parents have the greatest opportunity to influence and instill positive characteristics in their children. These questions will help you speak words into your children that will begin to take root and become a foundation of healthy self esteem for your children.
Who is most responsible for your success?
The answer may seem easy but don’t let a one-word answer be enough for this question, encourage them to begin to understand that they can do anything they want to do if they believe in themselves first. Explain that positive self-talk or thinking is much like how we treat the rest of our body. If we put good things in, good things will come out.
How were you uniquely created?
Begin to help your children understand that they are unique and they are not supposed to be like everyone else. Being unique means that they have special gifts, talent and a personality that no one else has. Our uniqueness is something we should celebrate and not try to change to be like anyone else.
Who else believes in you?
This is a great opportunity to speak positive words and ideas into your children’s heart and head. Tell them of all the reasons you believe in them and that they were created to make a difference. Tell them that you are their biggest fan and will always be there to support them as they reach for the stars and find their destiny.
It’s very interesting when you think about our uniqueness. No one has our fingerprints, our DNA or many other of our unique genetics that make up our human body. It is also interesting that no one has the same personality, humor, experiences, taste, relationships and many other unique attributes.
